Alessio Sardo (B.A., M.A. in Law Trieste; PhD in Law, Genoa, 2015) is currently a Full Professor at the University of Genoa, Law Department, where he teaches legal informatics, methods, and ICT & Law. Previously, he was Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the University of Heidelberg (Germany), Department of Public Law, Constitutional Theory and Philosophy of Law and Research Visiting Associate at the London School of Economics. In 2014-2019, he served as a Researcher and Lecturer at Bocconi University (Milano).

His research operates at the intersection on legal theory, comparative law, and economic analysis of law. Alessio Sardo’s published works have appeared on The European Journal of Law and Economics, The Modern Law Review, The American Journal of Jurisprudence, The Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence, The German Law Review, Archiv für Rechts und Sozialphilosophie, Rechtstheorie, The European Journal of Migration and Law, Jurisprudence, The Kanazawa Law Journal, the European Convention of Human Rights Law Review, and Ratio Juris.

Alessio Sardo is also Principal Investigator or Team Member in several EU-funded and interdisciplinary projects (HORIZON, Next Generation UPP, World Bank), focusing on law, urban governance, public space, and online commercial regulation. Member of the Young Academy of Europe and coordinator of the UEES–UNIGE International LLM in Law. He has recently been awarded a Nawa Ulam Grant from the Polish National Agency and a Research Distinction (Honorary Professorship) from the University of Ica (Perù).
